It has been decided to postpone the deadline for phasing out the direct driving scheme. Furthermore, in this article you will also find some information about AES.

AES – What and why?

  • Automated Export System – is the EU's new export system.

  • Sweden implemented AES from October 1st this year.

  • All export declarations from Sweden must be submitted in AES after December 2nd.

  • This means that UGE and UNU will be phased out from the same date.

  • Requirement for a valid EORI number on the carrier to get the green light at the border.

  • If the EORI number is not valid, AES will respond that there will be manual processing at the border, i.e. a red light. Arrival registration must be carried out in the expedition.

  • The interface between AES and Digitoll means that most carriers drop and stop at the border.

ON arrival of the transport at the export customs office

  • Enter the reference for the AES export in the same way as you enter the reference for ECS or UGE export on house in Digitoll

  • Digitoll will perform a lookup against AES to get an answer whether the declaration is valid > that it has been released for export. If the declaration is not valid, this will be communicated to the submitter by means of an error validation message.

WHEN the transport arrives at the export customs office

  • Arrival of transport, and consignments/houses are registered as today via license plate recognition camera, pad, or manually in the expedition.

  • The arrival registration causes Digitoll to send a message about arrival to AES.

  • AES responds whether the export can be cleared automatically ( = green light) or whether it must be processed manually ( = red light)

When the transport has left the export customs office > Digitoll sends confirmation of export to AES
